I can see for miles mom...
Interesting... when we got home from church today we could see smoke in the distance as we came up the street. That in itself isn't so odd, often farmers burning stubble, but the wind was a bit high for burning I thought... Well wouldn't you know a fire truck was on the trail!! I went inside and DH had the curtains closed, when I told him he raced to get dressed, got the ATV and was gone! Well, we could see the fire, about a half mile away, the fire truck and supervisor left our piece of the trail and headed for tracks next to Wilks. I finally talked to DH about 2 hours later. Apparently the ditch beside the track was burning all the way from Cartier to the city and IN the city. A train had been throwing sparks the whole way and their were grass fires EVERYWHERE. DH spent 5 hours on the ATV with a waterpack on his back going where the trucks couldn't, or just helping out with the little fires. The firefighters gave him the pack and welcomed his help... finally a little boys dream come true! Truth be told though it was quite scary for a while. The fire south of our place was quite involved and threatened about an acre of bush, just a short ways away. Farther down the fire had advanced up a ditch heading for Breezy Bend Estates. Not fun. Tim's runners are SO black - I think they'll end up in the garbage!! That's what you get for playing with ash...

Yikes!! That's scary!!! Glad you are all ok. (((hug))
Truth be told, I would have joined Tim in a heartbeat. LOL
Be safe!!
jo
well join him you could! but I don't know if the pager would work at your place... he's officially joined the volunteer fire department. He'd been thinking about it and this kind of cemented the deal. cool thing is these volunteers actually get paid! They won't let him in a house fire yet, has to get some training LOL.
